A little reminder,

if I say something in english that it’s badly written, it’s because I don’t speak english. My language is spanish. Everything I know about english it’s thanks to movies, tv shows, and I guess a little bit thanks to school.

Anonymous: what is the best mode to take nature and portrait photography with a 55-200mm lens? (i have a nikon d7000)

I never find the 55-200mm lens comfortable to take portraits. And unless there is a lot of light (which I don’t like for landscapes), I use high shutter speeds with high ISO. (Always manual, of course)

Anonymous: should i buy a 50mm if i have the money? i've been saving up for a new lens but i didn't really know what would be good. i use a 55-200mm right now and i really like it? i don't want to buy a lens that i might not end up using, especially since they are expensive. what are the benefits to a 50mm?

well, I never used one. But the 1.4 aperture gives you a lot of light, you can shoot to high shutter speeds in ”dark” places. Better quality of image, more sharper than a 18-55mm for example. The depth of field it’s amazing.

And that’s all I can think of, so, If I had the money I would buy it.
So… it’s up to you.

catchthecolor: when do you usually use your 18-55mm and when do you use your 55-200mm?

18-55: I use it for almost everything right now, interiors (3.5 of aperture), landscapes, portraits.

55-200: I barely use it, when I want to photograph the moon (it’s not a telescope, but it’s all I have), when I want to focus a small part of the ocean. I use that. But maybe I should sell it to buy the 50mm

this is really vague

Anonymous: Probably been asked before but what camera do you use and do you like it? Or do you wish you had something different? On that note what's your "dream" camera and lenses?

I use a Nikon D3100 with a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 (kit lens) and 55-200mm f/4-5.6 (it’s in my about me),

I like my camera, I’m comfortable with it. I don’t have a dream camera, but I do have a dream lens, It’s a 50mm f/1.4 lens, it’s really expensive here, so it has to wait.
